Dear Ladies,

And so, the Summer has arrived and looks set to remain. I trust the glorious sunshine is allowing you to make the most of your leisure time out on the golf course and where the parched fairways may cause consternation for our green keepers, I expect you’re enjoying the extra yards you’re gaining whilst the dry conditions continue.…

Many congratulations to the Bucks squad on winning Regional County Match Week last month (our 6th time in 7 years!). Thank you to the staff and members of Denham GC for hosting such a major event particularly as we were the ‘guinea pigs’ for trialling a new 2½ day format. Huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped make it such a success and we now go on to represent Midland South region at the National Women’s Finals at Royal North Devon GC (17th - 21st September).

I’m aware it’s a very long way to travel, but as always, we would welcome your support if you happen to be in the area on holiday. We will meet Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Norfolk, Surrey & Gloucestershire in the 5 day Final and will play one county per day. It will be a gruelling test of stamina & determination with the highest calibre of golf on display and I’m confident our team will do their very best. The final team selection will be announced shortly and you can follow our progress via this website.

Best of luck next month to our 2nd Team who have reached the Midland South Finals again this year - the final will be played on 22nd August at Oxford GC.

And finally, one of our most sociable county competitions takes place on 4th September at Oakland Park GC (the Karchargis Trophy) and entries are open now for ladies and juniors to team up for this annual greensomes event. Why not ask one of the juniors from your club to partner you this year and I shall look forward to seeing you there..…
