The County summer knockout competitions entry deadline has just passed and we have had increased numbers this year in all competitions, apart from the Champion of Champions. The Summer Greensomes knockout has been especially popular with 49 pairs entered. My best wishes to all entrants this year. I hope you enjoy playing other courses and meeting golfers from other clubs.

Another way to meet other golfers and play at other clubs is to enter the various Opens that are run by individual clubs. At the last Delegates meeting, we were asked if we could publicise these club Opens on the website. We have created an additional section on the Competitions, Rules and Entry Forms page entitled "Bucks clubs Open Competitions" and have posted the entry forms for GXGC (9th May), Harewood Downs (21st May), Magnolia Park (18th June) and Burnham Beeches (3rd September). If any other Bucks Club has a ladies or mixed open that you would like to publicise, please send the entry form (in word and pdf format) to webadmin@bclga.org.uk and Anne Terry will be pleased to add it to the website.

Talking of the Delegates meeting, we had an excellent meeting in February at Oakland Park, with lots of good ideas buzzing around the room. The Executive are drafting a three year development plan for taking BCLGA forward, and we hope to have the draft out to clubs for discussion by early April. Your Delegates' input will be incorporated into our discussion document.

The next big event is our 2019 County Lunch which is to be held on Wednesday 27th March at my home club, Gerrards Cross. Quite a few ladies have already bought tickets, but there is room for more. There are also still some places for any early birds to play some morning golf before the lunch. So with a lovely menu, a guest speaker, an opportunity to bid for some four ball vouchers generously donated by Bucks clubs as well as a one-to-one lesson donated by our County Coach and a "Plant and Prosecco raffle", why not get a couple of friends together and come along. Tickets prices are the same as last year, available from Helen Mines - but hurry; we have to close ticket sales by 18th March - you have two weeks to apply - full details are on the "Special Events" page of the website.

Have you ever wondered what goes on at Executive meetings? We are now putting a one page summary of key points from our meetings on the website. This will be posted within two weeks of each meeting under Association Business/Business Meetings.

This month's congratulations:-
- the first team squad played a friendly match against the juniors on 17th February at The Oxfordshire, for a trophy donated by Tony Bowers. Last year the juniors won it on "holes won" as the actual matches were tied. This year the first team squad won the trophy!
- the first junior competition - the 18 hole Par 3 championship - was held at Wycombe Heights on Sunday. 18 girls braved the conditions with storm Freya in the offing; congratulations go to Rosie Kim for winning the trophy with a magnificent gross 58 including 4 birdies. Runner up was Olivia Lee with gross 59, the winner of the net prize was Rachel McKinlay with a superb net 55 and net runner up was Grace Rigby -Walden with an excellent net 56.

Happy golfing
